That fight does nothing for me

Jon Anik recently shared his honest thoughts on a potential Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight at UFC White House and explained why it did “nothing” for him.

The UFC White House event will be part of the grand America250 celebrations this year and is expected to feature some of the biggest superstars on the promotion’s roster. Given the size and scope of the event, it’s no surprise that fans expect to see McGregor make his long-awaited return to the cage on this one-of-a-kind card.

While many want to see the Irishman settle his rivalry with Chandler on the UFC White House card, Anik believes the two men should face other opponents instead of fighting each other.

In an interview on the JAXXON Podcast, Anik explained dismissing the McGregor-Chandler fight on the UFC White House card and said:

“That fight does nothing for me. I would love to see Conor McGregor back in the octagon, and Michael Chandler always dons the stars and stripes of the United States of America, so I think he deserves to have a place on the White House card.”

He added:

“But that matchup to me, it’s not a bout of consequence for me in the lightweight division. They’ll probably fight at f**king 170. I just would rather see Conor fight Nate Diaz or Mauricio Ruffy or, I don’t know, somebody else.” [H/t: MMA Junkie]

Chael Sonnen doesn’t believe Conor McGregor will ever fight again

Chael Sonnen recently explained why he doesn’t believe Conor McGregor will ever fight again. While Sonnen admitted that McGregor was still the promotion’s biggest draw, he doesn’t see the Irishman competing in the cage again.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Sonnen explained his standpoint and said:

“I think Conor McGregor retired the date that he announced he would not fight Michael Chandler… I remember saying ‘Conor McGregor will never fight again’…Conor is pulling out of the press conference and is pulling out of the fight with Michael Chandler; it’s synonymous with Conor McGregor’s retirement from MMA. That was my stance then, and that is my stance now, but that’s not what Conor is saying.”

He added:

“He’s still the biggest draw. He doesn’t have a license, and he hasn’t thrown a punch in years… and he’s still the number 1 fighter to watch in 2026.”
