A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a man in his 30s who was allegedly stabbed to death in Sydney’s inner west in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to a home on Spring Street in Concord at around 12.30am and the man was found outside the property with multiple stab wounds to his chest.
Paramedics treated the man for his injuries, but he died at the scene and has not yet been formally identified.
Police located the crime scene, and after inquiries, investigators arrested a 15-year-old boy, who returned to the scene with his mother.
“Today, one life was lost and another will be destroyed,” said Superintendent Christine McDonald.
“That’s why we have laws against young people carrying knives on our streets. One day, at one moment, you might use that knife; you might kill someone with that knife.”
The boy was taken to Burwood Police Station where he was charged with murder.
A juvenile court on Sunday denied the boy’s bail request.
