Broadcasters, or content creators, involved in the production of serious programming, especially music programming, should take a look at Taskamthe new Model 2400 Live recorder and mixing console.
This device is nominally a 24 tracker, and records to SD, SDHC and SDXC cards. It also offers a USB interface and extensive aux/looping/return/insert functionality involving external equipment. It is also DAW compatible with Human User Interface/Mackie Control Universal (HUI/MCU) DAW protocols.
The 2400 features TASCAM HDDA amplifiers (48V). Built-in digital processing features include a standard 3-band equalizer and a 4-band parametric equalizer, as well as compressors and low-pass filters on select channels. Other built-in effects include reverb, delay, and chorus.
It also includes MIDI I/O and MIDI Time Code support. There is also Bluetooth I/O on a pair of channels.
“The Model 2400 mixer has undergone numerous improvements that not only make the system a more efficient mixing environment, but also make the system more adept at interacting with a variety of external production equipment – resulting in a more feature-rich music and audio production system,” said Sean Daily, TASCAM Product Specialist.
