SydneyLondon’s oldest brothel – a series of lavishly decorated rooms hidden behind the modest facade of a small house – is up for sale with its future uncertain.
Tiffany’s Girls on Albion St in the inner suburb of Surry Hills has hosted thousands of pleasure seekers since it first opened in the early 1970s.

But the future of Tiffany’s Girls, along with a number of other long-standing Sydney establishments, is unclear.

“During Covid, brothels have seen a lot of movement,” said Petsikas, who is not involved in the day-to-day management of the brothel.
“Now girls want to do their own thing on OnlyFans, run their own businesses in their own apartments… but a brothel offers the one thing a phone can’t: the security of a safe environment.”
As a result, the five-terraced site and adjacent corner building, 10 minutes from the city, could fetch more than $13 million in an area rapidly being transformed by high-rise apartment development.

“Honestly, I don’t know what will happen to this site. It’s a real island in the Surry Hills, and it wouldn’t take much to rezone it for high-rise residential,” Pitsikas said.
Property data shows the site last sold for $1,124,750 in September 2006.
Although business has changed a lot, there is still enough money to be made in brothels, Petsikas told the Herald.
“It was the first company in the world, and it will be the last.”
