Steve Bannon sentencing updates: Bannon sentenced to 4 months, pending appeal

The hearing began with Judge Carl Nichols saying he agreed with the government on the sentencing guidelines.

The judge said Bannon has “expressed no remorse for his actions” and has not shown he intends to comply with the committee’s Jan. 6 subpoena.

Bannon attorney David Schoen argued that there should not be a mandatory minimum of 30 days in jail for the offense.

However, Nichols rejected that argument, saying the statute is clear on the point that there is a mandatory minimum of 30 days and a mandatory maximum of 12 months.
