Doherty was fighting an uphill battle for her life as she battled her ex-husband, Kurt Iswarienko, in court just hours before she took her last breath.

“It is absolutely wrong that Kurt is allowed to prolong our divorce in the hope that I will die before he is required to pay me while he continues to live his life and evade his responsibilities to his dying wife of over 11 years,” Doherty revealed in court records.
As a result of her health and legal problems, records show that the legendary TV actress was experiencing financial difficulties behind the scenes.
Her only asset is said to be her Malibu home, which is said to be worth around $6 million.
In the three years before her death, the actress earned $21,642 per month through her company, Shando Productions Inc., according to American sun.
However, her expenses were huge at $53,080 per month, meaning she had a monthly deficit of $31,438.
Doherty had incurred huge expenses, paying her divorce lawyer $99,430, according to the documents.
But the actress still owes an additional $170,635.
Other expenses included a $19,375-a-month mortgage and interest-only payments of $731 on a $150,000 SBA load.
In 2018, Doherty took out another home loan for $2.8 million.
The monthly interest rate on this loan rose by 3.25% last August, according to financial documents.
Meanwhile, Doherty also had monthly bills, including $3,590 in property taxes, $4,103 in home maintenance, and $1,548 in utilities.
It is unclear why Doherty withdrew the $3 million deposit for the home up front.
