A select group of McCain frozen products have been pulled from shelves nationwide, due to possible chemical contamination.
The importer is Parsram Foods Ltd. reminder The following eight frozen products are from McCain:
- McCain Masala Potatoes – 420g & 1.5kg Sizes
- McCain Veggie Burger Patty – 360g
- McCain Popular Veggie Burger Patty – 1.2kg
- McCain Hot Pepper & Garlic Potato Wedges – 420g
- McCain Hot & Garlic Potato Fries – 1.5kg
- Makin Aloo Tikki – 400g & 1.5kg Sizes
- McCain Vegetable Nuggets – 325g
- McCain Vegetable Fingers – 400g

The products were sold in Indian grocery stores in New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia.
The recall includes products with an expiration date of August 22, 2025.
The product recall comes due to possible chemical contamination in the form of ethylene oxide – which is used as a pesticide, a sterilizing agent and in the production of other chemicals such as antifreeze.
“Food products containing ethylene oxide may cause illness/injury if consumed,” Food Standards Australia and New Zealand He said in his reminder:.
Consumers should not consume this product.
Consumers must return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
