Royal clashes over Will’s big broken rule

Reports have revealed that Prince William has had several “heated confrontations” with the rest of the royal family.

King Charles has reportedly fallen out with Prince William over concerns about his son’s flying habits. The Prince of Wales refuses to travel separately from his family, breaking an unwritten rule that heirs to the throne must travel separately. The King has reportedly made the Prince of Wales sign a waiver, acknowledging the risks of taking his children up in the air and thus jeopardizing the line of succession. Sky News presenter Rita Panahi joined To Di For podcast host Kinsey Schofield to discuss the tension between the two princes.

Royal author Robert Jobson said the Prince of Wales, a trained pilot with an extensive military background, had several heated confrontations with his father and late grandmother over the safety of flying for him, his wife Kate Middleton and their three children.

“One recent source of contention is William’s stubborn refusal to take his father’s advice on protecting the succession,” reads an excerpt from Jobson’s upcoming book, “Catherine, Princess of Wales: A Biography of the Future Queen,” obtained by The Verge. Independent is reading.

“Earlier this year, the Queen raised concerns with his son about the wisdom of William using his helicopter to ferry his entire family around the country,” the royal correspondent added.

Jobson, 60, also alleged that William, 42, had an argument with the late Queen, who died in September 2022, when he ignored her request not to take his family on the 115-mile journey from Kensington Palace to their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.

Jobson noted that Queen Elizabeth was “haunted by the 1967 plane crash that killed the Queen’s flight commander” and that she “did not hold back” when discussing her concerns with William.

“After being diagnosed with cancer, King Charles – perhaps reminded of his own mortality – echoed his late mother’s fears,” the author said of the 75-year-old monarch.

When William refused to stop flying with his family, Charles insisted that he sign a formal document, acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions.

Jobson claimed the succession to the throne was a sensitive issue because Prince Harry, 39, who is fifth in line to the throne, and Meghan Markle, 42, were separated from their royal duties.

Amid the feud between William and Charles, Jobson said Middleton, 42, was the “stabilizing influence” between the two because she is “someone who always tries to see both sides of any dispute,” according to daily Mail.

The Princess of Wales, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, shares children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, with William.
