A beloved radio host called into her regular morning show to give listeners a major update on her shocking battle with breast cancer.
The Mix 102.3 host broke down in tears while talking about her breast cancer diagnosis.
Adelaide’s Mix 102.3 morning show host Ali Clarke shocked listeners last week when she revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and would undergo a mastectomy.
On Tuesday morning, she told co-host Max Burford and stand-in Hayley Pearson that her surgery on Friday went well but she was now “walking through the doors” and was “a bit shaken up.”
“I’m actually home now,” she said.
“It’s incredible to be back in your bed.
“The nurses and doctors are great, but it’s great to be home and have the kids fight about not taking care of me.”
The 47-year-old mother of three broke down in tears last week as she revealed her dramatic cancer scare, telling Burford and Pearson on Tuesday that her “health has definitely been up and down”.
“I was high, not just on drugs, and then I completely collapsed,” she said.
In a hilarious moment, Clark said she was “completely numb” from some of the medications doctors gave her after surgery, and may have hallucinated when she saw dogs in her hospital room.
She said the after-effects of the surgery were not as scary as she had feared, telling listeners that her children asked to see the results and did not “hold back,” which she called a “huge relief.”
“It wasn’t at all as confrontational as I had envisioned it to be,” she said.
The material collected during the surgery is now being tested, and Clark said her fight will depend on the results of those findings.
“Things are going well so far, everything is going well, but I still have to wait for some results,” she said.
