Princess Kate hails ‘power of nature’ in helping ‘wellbeing’ following cancer diagnosis

The Princess of Wales has praised the “force of nature” for helping her “wellbeing” after being diagnosed with cancer.

Kate Middleton, 42, has been vocal about her belief in the calming properties of the outdoors as she steps back into the spotlight since revealing she is undergoing preventative cancer treatment.

“I wholeheartedly support the museum’s commitment to creating a special space that encourages people of all ages to connect with nature and learn more about how to protect our natural world,” the mother of three said in a series of Instagram posts on Thursday to mark the opening of new gardens at London’s Natural History Museum.

“I know the power of nature to support our development and well-being, by bringing us joy and helping to maintain our physical, mental and spiritual health.

“I hope these gardens will inspire and transform the thousands of people who visit them.”

The post included footage from Kate’s visit to the museum three years ago – where she toured the Natural History Museum’s wildlife gardens and met school children.

She made her second public appearance this year on Sunday when she attended Wimbledon to watch the Grand Slam final from the Royal Box.

The future queen was joined by her nine-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte and sister Pippa Middleton, 40, and was given a rapturous welcome as she made her way to the cabin.

Directors of the Natural History Museum on Thursday opened a free-to-visit outdoor exhibition and “living laboratory” to support nature’s recovery in the face of climate change.

Five acres around the building were transformed into two gardens, called the Garden of Nature Discovery and the Garden of Evolution.

Kate’s first public appearance since revealing her health battle was at Trooping the Colour in June.

She announced in March that she was receiving preventive treatment for cancer, after undergoing major abdominal surgery that left her in the hospital at the beginning of the year.
