Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may not be invited to spend the summer at Balmoral, a royal expert has claimed, putting their dream of a royal reunion in jeopardy.
The royal family will reportedly spend their summer holidays at Balmoral after a difficult start to 2024.
In February, King Charles announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer. The following month, Kate Middleton shocked royal fans when she revealed that she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy.
Now, I’m talking to the sunRoyal expert Sarah Houston has responded to the rumours, claiming that the Queen could officially invite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Balmoral.
“We have always been told that the King’s door is always open, but will they be invited? I don’t see an actual invitation being issued, but if they do ask, it will be very difficult for the King to say no,” she said.
“He doesn’t want that distance with his son, and he certainly doesn’t want that barrier between him and his grandchildren,” Sarah added. “We won’t see the king jumping on a plane to California to see them.”
Speaking about Kate and William’s possible feelings about reuniting with the California-based couple, the royal commentator said: “We know things with the Wills and Sussexes are very tense. I don’t see any signs of any thawing there – that’s not really a priority.”
She revealed that the future King of England “really wants to focus now on keeping things calm, and stress levels low, while the princess recovers.”
