People wanted to celebrate and now Bunnings has answered the call.
The popular retail destination will host the country’s first-ever ‘Bunnings Party’ at one of its massive warehouses in August after a surprise, viral TikTok campaign calling for a tech show at one of its sites.
Australian electronic music duo Peking Duk’s TikTok channel was at the forefront of the campaign, with the duo remixing the popular Bunnings TV ad jingle into a music track and dancing frantically to it.
In a new video posted to the channel, Pekin Doc confirmed the concert was happening.
“People have spoken and Bonings has listened. We’re doing this. You made this happen. Oh my God, we’re going to have a great concert with Bonings,” said Robin Styles, a member of Peking Duk alongside Adam Hyde.
“We still don’t know where. So pick a place, pick a state, pick a Bunnings store, where do you want to have this party?”
“Where are we going to do this? Let’s celebrate, let’s have fun.”
A Bunnings spokeswoman confirmed to NewsWire that the event will take place sometime in August.
“We loved seeing all the Australian music fans across the country sharing their excitement for the Bunnings concert,” said a company spokeswoman.
“So it’s incredibly exciting to confirm that in collaboration with Peking Duk, What So Not and Kaila, we’ve found a way to give people what they want – the Bunnings Warehouse Party is coming in late August.
“We’ll have more details coming soon. Watch this space.”
The wild TikTok campaign was sparked by 19-year-old music producer Kaila, who posted a video with the caption “Petition to host a huge concert at Bunnings Warehouse” and a remixed Bunnings dance track.
This was followed by Peking Duk’s appearance with their own remix.
The pair chat in Bunnings, in the aisles and on the escalator.
“We won’t just match it, we’ll beat it by five percent,” they say.
