Paul Pelosi wore a hat and a glove to the awards ceremony, possibly to hide injuries he sustained from the assault.

He had undergone extensive surgery after the violent assault in October and still faces a “long battle” for a full recovery, Nancy Pelosi, also 82, said last month.

Doctors had to remove his skull, reshape it and fuse it back together after the violent attack, in which a maniac broke into Pelosi’s San Francisco home and smashed his head in with a hammer on October 28.

Paul Pelosi spent about six days at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center Intensive Care.

Last week, Nancy Pelosi, who is stepping down as House Democratic leader, said her husband is “coming along” but needs more time to fully recover.

“It’s going to take a while,” she said during her weekly press conference on Thursday. “It’s going to take a while. Head injuries are — they have an impact beyond surgery. That’s a big thing.”

David DePape, 42, was arrested for the attack and has been charged with attempted murder, attempted kidnapping and assault. He had reportedly planned to attack Nancy Pelosi, but she was not home at the time.
