Homicide detectives are still at the scene off Peachtree Battle Avenue, working to determine the identity of the victim, who they said is a man in his mid-40s or 50s.

“We don’t think he lived in the immediate area,” police said. “He doesn’t seem to be from the neighborhood.”

Regan spoke to neighbors who were out for a run and shocked to hear about the shooting.

“Kids and families walk through these neighborhoods,” Patrick Lewis said. “It’s just unfortunate that this kind of thing happens.”

Police have not identified the victim, but said he was in his late 40s or early 50s. The police say they are also working to find a motive.
