MSI has announced a new PC design inspired by Pixar’s beloved Toy Story series. This isn’t just a sticker on a shell; it’s a limited edition hardware design that reminds you of Buzz, Woody, and many toys from the movie.
Usually, many themed PCs might feature simple artistic designs or subtle references, or maybe even a sticker that goes all along, but MSI didn’t go in lightly. The company had a much more detailed approach and transformed a whole set of essential PC components into a colorful tribute to the classic animated film.
At the heart of this exceptional build is the Z890 motherboard, which has been carefully designed to capture the essence of Woody, the iconic cowboy character. Its aesthetic incorporates details that reflect Woody’s signature outfit and overall Western theme, making it seem like a Woody’s Roundup-style TV.
Complementing the motherboard is the graphics card, specifically an RTX 5070, which utilizes the striking color palette of Buzz Lightyear. The card features a prominent green-on-white color scheme, closely resembling Buzz’s space ranger suit. This means the most powerful components in the system also serve as a dynamic tribute to Buzz, who represented a high-tech and space-aged toy.
The CPU cooling solution continues the thematic journey with an all-in-one cooler creatively designed after the three-eyed squeaky aliens that Mr. PotatoHead and his wife raised. The power supply unit comes in a bold purple hue, specifically chosen to represent the powerful Emperor Zurg. As Buzz Lightyear’s main antagonist, Zurg’s characteristic purple is a great contrast to the colors.
Overall, the most visually striking element is the transparent ATX case itself. This central enclosure for all the internal hardware is not just a clear shell; it has been intricately painted to replicate the look of the famous claw grabber game (known as the Rocket Ship Crane Game in the movie), the machine where the three-eyed aliens were found.
To add an extra touch of authenticity and interaction, the case even has a small joystick, which clearly references the controls of the arcade game. This design decision transforms the entire PC chassis into a piece of movie memorabilia, making it a standout aspect of the bundle.
I love the look of this, but I am also a fan of Toy Story movies. This would be perfect for anyone who enjoyed the movies, and it feels like it was designed by someone who cared a lot about the films and the Pixar legacy.
One thing to keep in mind is that this isn’t a complete, ready-to-use PC. The bundle includes only the five specified Toy Story-themed parts: the Z890 motherboard, the RTX 5070 graphics card, the all-in-one CPU cooler, the Emperor Zurg-themed power supply, and the “claaaaaaw” grabber game-inspired ATX case. However, To assemble a fully functional system, you still need to provide your own CPU, RAM, storage drives, and operating system separately.
In terms of pricing, the Toy Story PC bundle goes for 79,999 Taiwanese dollars on MSI’s website. When converted, this amounts to approximately $2,700. Since this price only covers a selection of core components and does not include a full PC, it’s definitely expensive. There are only 500 bundled units.
