Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger was spotted in Paris Olympics – But after the photos were circulated, it was the photos taken by those sitting around him that caused a stir on social media.
Wearing a hat and headscarf, the 81-year-old actress blended into the crowd as she watched the fight at the Grand Palais on Saturday.
Well, actually, those around him were mocked online because they didn’t seem excited to be sitting near the rock legend.
“Imagine you’re at the Olympics and you’re a millennial looking at your phone and you don’t know you’re next to Mick Jagger. Society is in decline!” the “History of Rock” account posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, and attracted thousands of comments and retweets. It has been viewed more than a million times.
Some fans couldn’t believe what they were seeing, and booed the young spectators who were staring at their phones while at the Olympics.
“What if they were all texting back saying, ‘Oh my god, I’m sitting next to Mick Jagger,’” one person challenged.
“No, they just finished posting on Instagram about sitting next to him,” another joked.
Others suggested that Jagger would have appreciated being left alone.
“I’m sure he’d rather be left alone and not recognized,” one fan wrote.
“I love the way Jagger lives his life, putting himself in different cool situations,” agreed another.
“He does this all the time, even when he’s on tour. He dresses casually and casually, and shows up at local clubs and restaurants. He’s so cool and nice,” one commenter wrote.
Jagger was at the event with his seven-year-old son Devereaux “Davey” and his 37-year-old girlfriend Melanie Hamrick.
Just the day before, Jagger celebrated his birthday.
And he certainly isn’t the only celebrity to have been spotted in the stands since the Olympics officially kicked off on Friday.
American gymnast Simone Biles drew a crowd of celebrities on Sunday.
Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Tom Cruise, Greta Gerwig, Snoop Dogg, Nick Jonas, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Jessica Chastain, Nina Dobrev, Shaun White, American Vogue Magazine Editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and Australian film director Baz Luhrmann were both watching the ceremony.
