Kanye West’s Instagram Tirade is a nasty storm of anti-Semitic filth

A week that began with Kanye West wearing the phrase White Lives Matter on a shirt and included his appearance on Tucker Carlson’s fanatical right-wing show has ended with the rapper spewing anti-Semitic filth on Twitter. Late Saturday, after Instagram imposed restrictions on his account for past posts that were allegedly anti-Semitic, West leaned into the hate, writing in a since-deleted Twitter post: “I’m a little sleepy tonight but when I wakes up, I’m going death [sic] con 3 About JEWS The funny thing is that I can’t actually be anti-Semitic because black people are actually Jews too. You’ve been playing with me and trying to grind down all those who oppose your agenda.” (The platform later locked his Twitter account.) The rapper’s turn from performance art conservative to actual bigot comes after years of being open about mental health issues. But suffice it to say that erupting in a steady stream of anti-Jewish bile is not a condition identified in the latest edition of The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
