Is the ‘Sound of Freedom’ Effect Powering ‘Melania?’

Sound of Freedom” wasn’t a faith-based film. Nor was it conservative by any overt measure.

Yet the Legacy Media slapped both labels on the 2023 smash. That double whammy coaxed more than a few moviegoers to sample the powerful film in theaters.

They couldn’t wait for it to hit streaming platforms.

The result? “Sound of Freedom” made more money than can’t-miss blockbusters like “Fast X,” “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” and “The Flash.”

Stunning.

The media’s nonstop attacks on the Angel Studios’ film likely boosted its box office numbers. Conservatives who might have been on the fence about the film suddenly felt compelled to strike back at corrupt media outlets.

Call it the “Sound of Freedom” effect. And it might be happening again.

“Melania,” the documentary focused on the former model turned FLOTUS, made a whopping $7 million-plus in its opening weekend. That’s a staggering sum for a documentary, and that’s despite media reports predicting it would be lucky to generate $3 million in its debut frame.

The documentary’s success story continues.

Breitbart News exclusively reports that the film is gaining steam at the box office. “Melania” made $1.2 million on Tuesday and $1.25 million yesterday. Those are solid weekday numbers and suggest the film won’t be a one-weekend wonder.

Plus, Amazon will add to the film’s theatrical tally this weekend. More screens. More chances to see the film.

More box office sales.

That matters because the Legacy Media has declared war on “Melania.” Film critics have savaged the documentary, with many playing the Nazi Card™ against it.

These weren’t garden-variety bad reviews. They were deeply personal.

The Guardian critic mocked Melania Trump’s face and speaking voice. That’s ugly and unprofessional.

USA Today argued it was “patriotic” to smite the movie. Indiewire worried the film’s success could hurt the documentary genre in toto. NPR pointed out, as if it mattered, that the movie’s initial audience was primarily white.

How often do news outlets break down a film’s demographic in this fashion?

Bad movies generate bad reviews. This … is different. Plus, while the film has a built-in audience that’s receptive to a pro-Trump feature, the general audience rating at Rotten Tomatoes is a whopping 99 percent “fresh.”

The media has done all it can to destroy “Melania.” Now, it’s the American people’s turn.
