Hugh Jackman He broke down in tears while celebrating his latest box office hit.

The 55-year-old Sydney-born star cried in his car when he learned his new film, Deadpool & Wolverine, had become the number one movie in the world.

Reading the news on his phone in a video posted on Twitter On Monday, Hugh first laughed to himself before exclaiming, “Oh my God.”

Tears of joy began to flow as he realized the truth, as he swatted the drops away before letting out a deep sigh.

Hugh also shared the news on his Instagram account, writing: “Wolverine and Deadpool is the #1 movie in the world. Thank you all!”

He posted his comment alongside a photo of his character, Wolverine, lying on a couch looking at a framed picture that read, “The number one movie in the world.”

Deadpool & Wolverine grossed $10 million AUD at the domestic box office on its opening weekend, making it the highest-grossing R-rated opening weekend ever, while grossing $668.45 million AUD worldwide – far exceeding industry expectations.

The star recently revealed how his children Oscar and Ava inspired him to reprise his role as the iconic Marvel superhero in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Hugh said he then contacted Deadpool’s representative. Ryan Reynolds47, told him he would accept the offer to appear alongside him in a film, despite previously turning it down.

“Ryan and I are good friends, so I knew he was getting ready to shoot, but I wasn’t sure where he was. I thought if he was shooting now, it would be years later.”

“They have become closer than he imagined and he can confide in them, whereas before he would have gone to Depp,” the friend added.

The actor’s friends hope his deep connection with his children will help him cope with his current emotional state.
