Dyson launches new OnTrac headphones with customisable caps and cushions | Technology News

Dyson, known for its home appliances and premium audio products, today unveiled OnTrac, new wireless headphones packed with features that come with customizable ear cups and cushions.

Dyson says it uses a custom Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) algorithm that consists of eight microphones and samples external sound 384,000 times per second, effectively reducing noise by up to 40 decibels. The headphones are powered by 40mm drivers, feature 16-ohm neodymium speaker drivers and advanced signal processing to ensure every note or word is heard.

The company claims that the OnTrac headphones can reproduce frequencies ranging from 6Hz to 21,000Hz, allowing users to enjoy deep bass and clear highs. The Dyson OnTrac headphones have two high-capacity lithium-ion battery cells suspended in the headband that can last up to 55 hours on a single charge with ANC enabled. To turn ANC on or off, you simply double-tap either cup.

Available in four colours, the Dyson OnTrac headphones are inspired by the CNC manufacturing process with options including CNC aluminium, copper and nickel, while the Cinnabar ceramic coating gives them a ceramic-like, painted finish. You can also customise the outer covers and ear cushions in different colours and finishes, with the outer covers made from high-quality aluminium.

Users can connect the OnTrac earphones using the MyDyson app, which offers several features like real-time audio recording that monitors the sound level inside and outside the ear and choosing between Bass Boost, Neutral, and Enhanced EQ modes. While the company hasn’t shared any specific timeline for the launch, the OnTrac earphones will be available in India soon.
