Residents of more than twenty Melbourne Suburbanites can now order food, drinks and other items via drone thanks to a new delivery service.
DoorDash has teamed up with Australia’s first drone delivery service called Wing, based at Eastland Shopping Centre in Melbourne’s east.
The service can deliver food and drinks including coffee and small household items, and launched in 26 suburbs in Melbourne’s east on Thursday.

Customers can place an order on the DoorDash app and will have the option to have their item delivered by drone upon completion of their purchase.
The order will then be packed, attached to the drone on a retractable wire and delivered to the customer’s door.
The 26 suburbs east of Melbourne where drone delivery will be provided are:

The launch of drone delivery in Victoria follows its success in south-east Queensland over the past five years, where it has operated from Logan, Brisbane and Springfield/Ipswich.
