Dancing With The Stars 2024: Samantha Jade receives top score and celebrity chef Hayden Quinn eliminated

The fourth episode of Dancing with the Stars sees the first 10 contestants of the season selected and the next contestant eliminated from the competition.

As the show came to an end, the second group of celebrities took to the dance floor in an attempt to improve on their performance from last week and win the judges’ approval.

There was also the next elimination after model Nadia Bartel and her partner Leo were eliminated last week.

Comedian Nikki Osbourne was the first to dance the tango.

Osbourne tested her sexy, serious side when she admitted she “never got to be emotional or sexy.”

The judges said she had improved from last week but needed some work on her technique, after she dressed as Poison Ivy and performed Britney Spears’ “Toxic”.

Osborne had 26 points.

Next, celebrity chef Hayden Quinn performed his own sultry and sexy rumba.

Judge Craig Revel Horwood said he found it “difficult to concentrate because your shirt was open and there aren’t many chefs with a body like that… you have to taste everything and not eat anything”.

Quinn also praised his improvement and keeping his cool under pressure.

Sonia Kruger gave her high praise: “One of the most exciting rumbas we’ve ever seen on DWTS.”

Quinn scored 27 points.

Perth singer Samantha Jade wowed the crowd with her Brazilian twist on samba.

In emotional scenes, the star revealed that Samantha’s appearance on the show was a dream of her mother – who was a ballet dancer and died of cancer in 2014.

Her skill made a strong impression on the judges after she received a perfect score of 10 from Mark Wilson, the first perfect score awarded this year.

“It was like a dance competition,” he said.

After comments like “Your legs move like a professional dancer,” she received a total score of 34.

Australian rules football star Shane Crawford showed off his romantic side during an elegant Viennese waltz.

Although it was a “bit funny” dance, it was a better performance than his last one, Horwood said.

He got a score of 26.

Olympic legend Nova Peres brought the energy by entering the dance floor in a stunning costume designed by a First Nations artist.

The judges said her performance was “joyful, light and energetic”, although her nerves seemed to get the better of her and she struggled musically.

Perez got 19 points.

Better Homes and Garden star Adam DeVille was the latest to perform in his attempt at a sexy and sensual Argentine tango.

DeVille admitted he had a hard time finding his sexy side, but he turned up the heat on the dance floor with a fiery, passionate number.

However, judges said it lacked flow, was too aggressive for a tango that is supposed to be more traditionally fluid, and failed to glow.

“I was a little disappointed but you are very talented and will go a long way,” Horrod said.

Deauville was considered a threat in the competition, and earned 28 points.

After the audience voted, Quinn and Osbourne were forced to dance with their partners.

Eventually, Quinn’s dance journey came to an end and she was sent home.

Dancing with the Stars returns next Sunday, August 4 at 7pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
