Portugal vs Spain Who Won? Match Highlights
The reigning European champions, Spain, started off pulling Portugal through a stunning display of their intricate passing, which eventually resulted in the first goal of the match within 21 minutes of play.
The first ball netted by the Spanish forward was a failed defense from a floated cross, which was deflected by Joao Neves off to Zubimendi in an attempt to serve a clearance on the nearing cross. The Arsenal-bound midfielder could not miss this golden chance and scored the first for Spain.
However, the dizzy Portuguese side were fired up since the first goal, and an impressive run from Cristiano Ronaldo followed by a hold-up allowed space for the Chelsea winger Neto, who found Nuno Mendes rightly in position as the left-back fired one into the right bottom corner of the Spanish net.

Just at the brink of halftime, when Portugal looked well into the first half of the game, the Spanish took a precious lead into the half-time break, as the forward Oyarzabal guided home a neat through ball from Pedri, who served the pass as neat as white paper without a stain.
After the hour mark ticked on the clock, Mendes once again beat Yamal on the byline as his deflected cross landed near the Portuguese captain, as his physicals were too strong for the Chelsea defender Cucurella. Ronaldo passed the ball perfectly into the gap in the Spanish net, and the scores were level again.

The Portuguese and the Spanish side looked for opportunities to search for the final winner; however, both Unai Simon and Diego Costa drew saves, denying both sides their fair chances of extending their lead for a winner.
Extra time started off evenly for both sides, as the biggest moment in the extra time was when Mendes tore through the Spanish defense and tumbled down with a huge shout for a penalty, which eventually was waved away. Pedro Porro’s long-distance effort almost dispossessed Diego Costa, and another Diego Jota header leaped over the goal, sailing the game into the penalties.
