Western Australia Police are searching for a man who may be armed with a gun after another man was shot in both hands in the south-west.
Bunbury detectives are searching for 34-year-old Joseph James Horohaw Combe as part of their investigation into a firearm incident that occurred on Sunday morning.
A police spokesman said: “At approximately 8.15am, police received information about a man who had been shot in Clifton Street, Cowley.”
The man, who is in his 30s, was shot in both hands and taken to Cooley Hospital.
West learned that the man’s injuries were likely caused by a shotgun. His condition is still unknown.
“It is believed that the incident involved people known to each other and was not a random incident,” police said.
West understands that police have deployed extensive resources to try to arrest Mr. Combe as part of their ongoing investigation into the shooting.
Mr Combe is described as being 180cm tall, of medium build, with green eyes and a fair complexion.
It is understood officers from the Tactical Response Group and the Police Air Wing visited properties in Australand and Cooley on Sunday, but Mr Combe was nowhere to be found. It is believed Mr Combe was associated with those properties.
He is known to visit Australland, Cowley and the South West, according to police.
Police have warned the public not to approach Mr Cumbie as he may be armed with a firearm.
