Due to low rates and frequent claims denials, the recent surge in exchange volumes hasn’t been particularly lucrative for the health system, executives said during Ardent Health’s second-quarter earnings call. Full hospitals and strong demand across other patient populations means the company isn’t afraid of expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies and won’t hesitate to give some plans the boot.
