Former TV host Andrew O’Keefe has been arrested on drug-related charges just weeks after being arrested for driving with a suspended license.
The 52-year-old man was allegedly stopped by officers from the Eastern Suburbs Police Command at about 11.45am on Sunday where he was found behind the wheel of a Mercedes sedan on Cranbrook Road in the affluent Sydney suburb of Bellevue Hill.
He was subsequently arrested and tested positive for road rage drugs.
Police allege O’Keefe threatened a man at an address on Longworth Street in the neighbouring suburb of Point Piper “for a short period” before officers stopped him.
The former host of Deal or No Deal has been transferred to Waverley Police Station where he is assisting police with investigations.
He has not yet been charged, and police will continue their investigation.
Sunday’s arrest comes after O’Keefe was issued a court appearance notice for a driving while suspended offence on June 20, after a vehicle stop in Bellevue Hill.
In January, he was also convicted of domestic violence charges dating back to September 2021, in which he kicked and spat at a woman.
He was convicted of common assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of possession of a prohibited drug and breaching an intentional violence order, however he avoided prison and was sentenced to a 12-month community corrections order and three 18-month community corrections orders for family violence offences.
