Amazon driver found dead in front yard, Ray County Sheriff’s Office investigates

WOOD HEIGHTS, Mo. (KCTV) – An investigation is underway and two dogs are dead after the body of an Amazon driver was found in someone’s yard just outside of Excelsior Springs.

Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers said they received a call around 8:30 p.m. about an Amazon van that had been outside a residence for several hours.

When deputies arrived on scene in the 12900 block of O Highway, they found a deceased male in a person’s front yard. It seems he was an Amazon driver.

At this time, Sheriff Childers was informed that there were two dogs on the scene that had been aggressive towards deputies and medical personnel. The dogs had gone into the house again.

Due to the nature of the driver’s injuries, the sheriff’s office could neither confirm nor deny whether the dogs caused the driver’s death. That said, they saw a dog door with blood on it.

“I sent both dogs,” Sheriff Childers said at last.

The driver’s name is not being released at this time. Authorities are working to notify his family.

Wood Heights is located just outside of Excelsior Springs in Ray County, Missouri.
