Alastair Baker promoted to chief planning officer at Havas Media Network

Havas Media Australia has promoted Alistair Baker to the newly created role of Chief Planning Officer.

Baker, who was previously head of planning, has 15 years’ experience working in media, creative and digital agencies in the UK and Australia. He has worked at agencies including Dentsu X UK, Vizeum UK and iProspect (a Dentsu subsidiary) in Melbourne.

“I am excited about Havas’ investment in technology and data to deliver the best solutions in the market to customers,” Baker said.

“This new role is an exciting part of that commitment and a personal chapter that I am very much looking forward to.

“It is an unprecedented opportunity to work with clients to help them better understand their customers’ behaviors throughout the entire buying journey and deliver effective growth solutions.”

Marketers feel a lot of pressure to do more with the same or lower budgets, said Virginia Hyland, CEO of Havas Media Network.

“Our goal is to simplify complex things for them,” she said.

“This challenge creates an opportunity for Alistair to develop client solutions that enable clients’ businesses to achieve meaningful growth by understanding how to best leverage content in the most effective media channel and deliver impactful engagement consistently.

Baker will start his new role effective immediately and will deliver an integrated converged planning process and enhanced data and tools strategy.
