In one of awards season’s most visually striking traditions, The Actor Awards Presented by SAG-AFTRA hosted a special media event showcasing the creation of its iconic bronze statuette, The Actor®, ahead of the 32nd annual ceremony.
The live casting took place on February 5, 2026, at the American Fine Arts Foundry, offering an up-close look at the meticulous craftsmanship behind one of the industry’s most respected honors. Our host Andi Lew even got the chance to hold the award being presented to this year’s honoree Harrison Ford!

The event will was attended by SAG-AFTRA President Sean Astin, alongside key figures behind the awards show including Jon Brockett (Showrunner & Executive Producer), Joely Fisher (Actor Awards Committee), Daryl Anderson (Actor Awards Committee), Mark Bracco (Executive Producer/Silent House President), and Linda Gierahn (Executive Producer/Silent House Chief Content Officer). Foundry experts Brett Barney and Angel Meza of American Fine Arts Foundry were also be on hand to guide media through the intricate process.
We got to experience the full casting process of the solid bronze statuette — from molten metal to finished masterpiece! Heated to approximately 2,000 degrees, molten bronze will be poured into a red wax mold before being broken free using hammers and sandblasters. Skilled artisans will then dust, refine, and delicately apply patina to the 16-inch sculpture. In its final stages, the statuette’s arms are attached and the surface is coated with copper nitrate, giving The Actor® its signature green hue. Weighing 12 pounds, each award is individually crafted, making every piece a unique work of fine art.
As anticipation builds for the ceremony, the statuette pouring offers a powerful reminder of the artistry — both on screen and behind the scenes — that defines the awards.
